Winifred Taylor

Winifred B. Taylor, 83, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie Rice Buckner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, LTC Emmett Kirk Taylor, and her brothers: Edwin “Buddy” Buckner, Glenn Buckner and J.C. Buckner.

She was a graduate of Brevard High School and Baptist Hospital School of Nursing (now known as Wake Forest) before embarking on her career as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed working for many years as a nurse in the Brevard and Asheville hospitals.

Interment will take place at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
