Walter Griffin

Walter Edward Griffin, Sr., 62, of Brevard, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Brevard, he was the son of the late Norman Nathaniel and Mary Ellen Patton Griffin.

Mr. Griffin loved his children and grandchildren. While he enjoyed fishing, his favorite pastime was enjoying University of North Carolina sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Sibert Griffin; his children: Tiffany Ann Griffin Brittain, Walter E. (Jamilla) Griffin, Jr., Jermaine Sibert, Quatrina Sibert and Luciana Sibert; grandchildren: Damian Brittain, Saniya Brittain, Asia Banks, De'Angelo Sibert, Jalen Sibert, Chris Grier, Jordan Grier, Javon Sibert and Gabe Sibert; great-grandchildren: Bryson Grier, Isabelle Grier, Peyton Grier and Kaylee Grier; sister Mary Alice Griffin and brothers Norman Griffin, Jr., and Frank Griffin.
A memorial service for Walter Griffin, Sr., will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals& Cremations with Rev. Marshall Erwin officiating.
