Ruth Stiles Grogan

Ruth Stiles Grogan, 91, of Brevard, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. A native of Franklin, NC, she was the daughter of the late Claud Daniel and Rhoda Stockton Stiles. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Grogan; her sister, Dorothy Cassell, and her brothers Harry Stiles, John Stiles, Gene Stiles, V.C. Stiles and Bill Stiles.

Creative and hardworking, Ruth retired from Ecusta but stayed busy working as the head of housekeeping at College Walk as well as with sewing, art, crafts and her garden. She had always worked hard, sometimes two jobs. She also loved being with her family and having fun, as she continued to waterski until her late seventies. She also loved her church, Brevard Wesleyan Church, where she and her husband Ray had been instrumental in starting the annual live Nativity at the church.

She truly loved her family; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with them and sharing her zest for life.

Her loving survivors include her children: Marsha Grogan George (Marvin Turner), Robert Anthony Grogan (Donna); her grandchildren: Jamie George (Carrie), Summer Biehler (Doug), Morgan Grogan, Kaitlin Seals (Ralph), Caleb Grogan (Morgan) and Cameron Price (Kristain); her great-grandchildren: Chandler Biehler, Brady Biehler, Braxton Grogan, Jay George, Kelley George and Stiles George.

A Memorial Service to honor Ruth Grogan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Brevard Wesleyan Church.
