Rouse Keesee

Brevard, North Carolina

Rouse Keesee, 86, a long-time resident of Brevard, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville. A native of Wayne, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Rouse, Sr. and Ethel Lee Keesee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers James and Charles Keesee and sister Imogene.

A United States Navy Veteran, he served during the Korean War prior to graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in electrical engineering and beginning his career at the Rosman NASA Tracking Research Station. His was met his wife, Maria Keesee, in Recife,Brazil before moving to Brevard, NC in 1964.
He enjoyed helping his neighbors and was very giving of his time. He loved to garden and being with his family and his four grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maria Keesee; his daughter Patricia and her husband Kenneth Conway of St. Marys, Kansas; his sons Roger Keesee and wife Karen and their children Colin and and Jena of Raleigh, NC, and Bruce Keesee and his wife Susan and their children, Cassandra and Zachary of Durham, NC; and his sister Loretta Porter of Winchester, OH and Donald Keesee of San Antonio, TX.

A Memorial Service for Rouse Keesee will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations in Brevard with Deacon Patrick Crosby officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the United States Navy Reserve and the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
