Robert H. Masengill, Jr.

Robert H. Masengill (Bob), 89, of Brevard, died on September 16, 2023, at home surrounded by family and ending a full and wonderful life of 89 years. He was born in Linden, AL, to Robert and Eloise Masengill. He attended school in Demopolis, AL, and attended the University of Alabama for two years. He then became a naval aviator and married his high school love, Janet Copeman, in 1956, whom he remained married to for 66 years.

After four years of naval service, he returned to the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. His family then moved to Brevard for his job at the Olin Corporation, which lasted for 32 years until his retirement. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and also held many impactful positions in professional, charitable, government and community organizations.

Bob is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Janet, and his beloved son Scott. He is survived by his son Ken (Debby), his daughter Renee (David), daughter-in-law Christi, his granddaughters Emily Ray (Drew) and Mindy Van de Water (David) and five great-grandchildren.

His cremated remains will be inurned in the First United Methodist Church columbarium. The family will hold a private service.
