Robert Hoover

Robert Durant Hoover, 88 of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, formerly of Lenoir, Morganton, and Linville, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. Born in Avery County, North Carolina, he was the son of Ray Ivy and Dottie Green Hoover of Lenoir, both deceased.  He had three brothers, Ray, Joe, and Jimmy; two sisters, Frances Hayes and Lil Spencer; and one son, Douglas Robert Hoover who preceded him in death.

He was a member of First Baptist Church or Morganton, NC.  He was a very caring, loving, and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He loved all sports, especially golf.  He was the manager of Sherwin Williams in Morganton until his retirement.

Survivors include the love of his life for 68 years Shirley Parsons Hoover, one son and his wife Randy and Donna Hoover of Pisgah Forest, daughter-in-law Gay Hoover, Campobello, SC, grandsons Forrest and Jackson Hoover, Pisgah Forest, one sister Eloise Parsons, Lenoir, brother-in-law and his wife Harry and Grace Parsons of Granite Falls and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations, 100 N. Country Club Road, Brevard, NC.   Rev. Tom Bland will officiate.
