Brevard, North Carolina

Robert A. (Bob) Chord, 78, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was the son of the late Harold and Camilla Chord. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Richard Chord.
He began his 37 year working career with PPG industries and retired while in Atlanta. He and his wife, Nancy, moved to Brevard in 2004. An active member of NEXT Church in Brevard, he was also a member of Connestee Falls Fishing Club. An avid fisherman, his favorite past-time was surf-fishing with his wife at the Outer Banks.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Chord; their daughters Stephanie Mitchell (Todd) of Cumming, GA and Kristin Moss (David) of Acworth, GA; and their son Carlton Davidson (Sherry) of McMinnville, OR; and five grandchildren: Whitney, Bobby, Allison, Jackson and McKenna.
A Memorial Service for Robert Chord will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 Brevard Wesleyan Church with Rev. Dave Blackburn officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to NEXT Church, 994 Glen Cannon Dr., Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
