Robert Anders

Robert “Steve” Anders, 72, of Horse Shoe, NC, passed away on Friday May 24, 2019 at his residence.  A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Glenn and Mildred Farnsworth Anders.  In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Allen Anders who died in 2000.

Steve attended school in Buncombe County.  He retired from the Henderson County Maintenance garage where he worked on the county fleet of cars, he also worked for Hendersonville city as a mechanic.  He was a supervisor with the Hendersonville City Water Department for many years.  He was a driver for NASCAR for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Evelyn Anders, two sons, Robert Anders of Hendersonville, NC and Brian Anders (Teresa) of Lake Lure, NC, one sister, Madie Ellen Anders Sampson of Woodfin, NC four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Jerry Lively officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 am-10:00 am at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations.
