Paul Langa

Paul Steven Langa, age 92, died of natural causes on March 28, 2019, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock NC. His death came barely a month after the passing of his wife of 68 years, Peggy Langa.
Paul was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of the late Steven and Lucille (Mabillot) Langa. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and following the war graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton NY. He worked in personnel management for a number of organizations, including twenty years as a labor relations director for the U.S. Postal Service. He and Peggy retired to the Brevard, NC area in 1992.
In his youth, Paul was an accomplished fencer, winning the New Jersey State High School championship. In his later years he was an avid golfer, bridge player, and tinkerer. Even into his 90's, he would often be seen in his garage shop in College Walk working on his latest project.
He is survived by four children: Dr. Victoria Langa of Cheswick, PA; Melissa Langa of Brookline MA, and her husband Jeff Wulfson; Steven Langa of Los Angeles CA, and his partner Stacy Pickren; and Dr. Jennifer Klaus of Brookline MA. He is also survived by grandchildren Kate Wulfson and her partner Mike Wang, Jim Wulfson, Rachael Langa, Tysen Klaus, and Riley Klaus, and by great-grandchildren Pallas and Mars Wang.
A private interment service will be held at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Four Seasons Foundation or Hamilton College.
