Nancy Hall

Rock Hill, South Carolina

Nancy Black Hall, 98, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, formerly of Brevard, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. A native of Barnwell County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elmina Black. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Hall of Dillon, SC., and their oldest son, Thomas E. Hall, Jr. and her
sisters Elmina Singleton and Sarah Dowling.
Nan graduated from Winthrop College in 1942 and married Earl Hall in 1943 and lived in Brevard, North Carolina. They were members of Brevard First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a charter member of the AAUW of Brevard, the High Hills Garden Club, and the first chairperson of the Transylvania Parks Commission. The latter gave her the opportunity to create the South Broad Park.
Her loving survivors include her children: William (Bill) Hall and wife Nancy Combs Hall of Monroe, NC and Phillip L. Hall and wife Karen Sanders Hall of Rock Hill, SC; daughter-in-law Dianne Costner Hall of Americus, GA; her sister Louise Jackson and brother Edward Wallace Black; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Nan Hall will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Brevard First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wright and Rev. Tommy Crocker officiating. Graveside Services will be private.
