Mildred Taylor

Mildred Mary Lou Gillespie Taylor, 80, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Laurels in Hendersonville. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Elmer and Norma Estelle Brittain Gillespie. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Edward "Ted" Taylor; son Alex Redden; sisters Reba King, Cornelia Amick, Zandra Lance and Edith Jo Gillespie and brothers Johnny Gillespie, Joe Gillespie and Alvin B. Gillespie.

She is survived by her children. Rita G. May (William) of Dana, NC and Robert Bilbro of Nashville, NC; Grandchildren: Gregory Anthony May, Angelica Charity May Sharpe (Chad), Christine Tabitha May Balla, Gayle Redden Pittman and Aaron Redden; great-grandchildren: Daniel' Flores (Allen), Seth May, Chenaniah May, Kaelon Sharpe, Moriah May, Gabriel M. Treadway, Donavan Ramirez and Joseph Treadway; Great-great-grandchild: Eliam Flores; sister Victoria Trent and brother C.E. Gillespie (Mary).

Funeral services for Mildred Taylor will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Mike Pressley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service. Interment will be at East Fork Methodist Cemetery.
