Matthew Whitmire

Matthew C. Whitmire, 26, of Rosman, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of Brian K. Whitmire and Sabrina Thomas Rankin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. and Joretta Whitmire.

Matt loved his family and friends and of course his dogs, Fred and Nala. A true "gear-head" because of his love for cars and trucks, he enjoyed being outdoors and sports.

Matthew's survivors include his father, Brian K. Whitmire of Rosman; mother Sabrina Thomas Rankin (Kevin) of Summerville, SC; grandparents Ricky and Rosietta Wilson, Rebecca Shelton, Waybern Shelton, William Thomas (Mary), Brenda Summers and Lois Zeigler; brothers Randall Whitmire and Zakk Rankin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Matthew's life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Chester Chappell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
