Margurette Suddeth Summey, 101, of Pisgah Forest went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 10, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family. A native of Chesnee, South Carolina, she is the daughter of the late William and Ruby Suddeth. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Byron Dickson and her husband Lewis Wade Summey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: John B. Dickson II and wife Joan, Barbara S. Cothran and husband Julian, Beth S. Simms and husband Wayne; 9 grandchildren, their spouses; and 17 great grandchildren.
She has lived in the Brevard area since 1945. Her faith was a very important part of her life and she was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church in Brevard. While working at Ecusta, she made some treasured friendships as she was a trusted friend, as well as, an encouraging mentor. She cared deeply for others and lifted the spirit of all who knew her.
Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. She was so welcoming, and everyone felt loved through her warm hugs, smile and the light in her eyes. She was an amazing listener, who always had some gem of wisdom to give, or a positive word to speak. She loved to interact with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they all can attest how she loved to hold their hand.
A private service will be held for the immediate family.
