Louise Lance

Louise Mims Lance passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was the daughter of Grover Cleveland Mims and Bessie Smith Mims of Sylvester, GA. She was born in Cuthbert, GA. on January 19, 1922 but moved to Brevard at an early age. She married Ernest L. Lance and they raised three children, Patsy, Steve and Gloria.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, her son, Robert Steven Lance, a grandson, Michael James Norton, three brothers, Cecil, Robbie and Edwin Mims and two sisters, Norma Jones and Catherine Lyon.

While living in Brevard, she was employed at various jobs including Scott's Meat Market and B & B Feed and Seed Company for many years.

Surviving Mrs. Lance are her daughters, Patsy Trent (Rick) of Seneca, SC and Gloria Norton (Ralph) of Brevard, NC, her brother, Wilson Mims of Sylvester, Ga., two sisters, Dorothy Dumas of Mobile Alabama and Marcelle Cutting of Wildwood, FL, daughter- in- law, Regina Lance of Shelby, NC, seven grandchildren, Roy Edward Mitchell, Tricia Lance Wise (Scott), Forrest Stroup (Shelley), Deanna Owens (Doyle) Michael James Norton, Robert Steven Lance, Jr. (Melissa), Christopher Steven Lance (Kristen), Jeffery Allan Lance (Jessica),16 great grandchildren, Erin Raymond, Katie Mitchell, Lauren Wise, Scotty Wise, Brooke Wise, Hailey Siniard, Randy Stroup, Tanner Stroup, Meleah Owens, Breylan Owens, Steven Lance, Lilly Lance, Sam Lance, Michael Lance, Simon Lance and Eli Lance and four great, great grandchildren, Avery, Ayden, Harper and Stella.

Services for Mrs. Lance will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in the Chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Connestee Cemetery.
