Lois Merrill Hall, 82, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Oaks, Brevard, NC.

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Gaillard Rex Merrill, Sr. and Mary Effie Pierson Merrill and was the wife of the late Aldon Hall, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her son, Aldon Tex Hall, daughter, Lois Anita Hall, and sister, Margaret Merrill Hughey.

Mrs. Hall was a member of Little River Baptist Church and had attended Crab Creek Baptist Church. She was a former co-director of the Land of the Waterfalls Cloggers for 15 years. She was inducted into the National Clogging Hall of Fame for her service.

Surviving are her daughter, Gail Hall Macfie and husband Jim of Brevard; sons, Don Hall and wife Teresa and Gregg Hall and wife Carol all of Pisgah Forest; sisters, Katherine Merrill Bradley and husband John of Penrose, Perry Merrill Brown and husband Doug of Brevard, Betty Merrill Hargus of Hendersonville, Doris Merrill Taylor and husband Lewis of Penrose, and Guyma Merrill Parris and husband Troy of Hendersonville; brother, G. Rex Merrill and wife Martha of Pisgah Forest; brother-in-law, Robert Jack Hughey of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Delia Hall McCall and husband Tracy, Amber Macfie Causby and husband John, Jamie Macfie, Ethan Hall and Caleb Hall; great grandchildren, Peyton Causby and Karter Macfie.

The memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Little River Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Pfister and Marcus Dodson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
