Judson Colfax Terhune

Judson Colfax Terhune, 88, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Born in Westchester County, New York, he was the son of the late Ralph H. and Norma Seymour Terhune.

A United States Air Force Veteran, Jud was always proud of his opportunity to serve and maintained a fierce love for his country throughout his life. He was extremely mechanically adept and proud of his ability to fix most anything. He found joy living in the mountains of North Carolina, hiking in the forest and visiting the waterfalls. He had a passion for photography and never tired of recording the stunning sunsets, snowfalls, landscapes, and wildlife of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Jud was a devout Christian and member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His greatest joy came when, after 40 years apart, he was reunited with the love of his life, and married his wife, Donna Slater Terhune.

Jud is survived by his wife, Donna; his son, Brian Terhune (Patty), stepchildren: Bill Whiston and Ginny Hall; grandchildren: Pierce Whiston, Tori Hall, Rob Hall and Jake Terhune; and his sister, Patricia Greenwald.

A Memorial service for Judson Terhune will be held 2PM Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Brevard Seventh Day Adventist Church. Military Rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force and the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
