Joyce Rhodes

Joyce Love Rhodes, 83, of Brevard, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019. A native of Anniston, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dallas and Flossie Marie Love. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Raxter.
Joyce dedicated her life to raising and educating her four sons. Her enjoyment of music was evident through her years singing in the choir at Carr's Hill Baptist Church, where she and her family were members for over twenty years. She also enjoyed playing her piano.
She loved spending time with her family, particularly on family vacations to Myrtle Beach. She also enjoyed movies, shopping and eating out with her family. She enjoyed cheering for NC State, since all four of her sons are engineering alumni...Go Wolfpack!
Her loving survivors include her husband of 63 years, James Max Rhodes, Sr.; their sons James Max Rhodes, Jr.( Susan) of Florence, SC, Mark Rhodes (Kerrie) of Cumming, GA, Jeff Rhodes (Sabrina) of Brevard, and Kelly Rhodes (Kristie) of Raleigh; grandchildren Joshua Rhodes, Emma Rhodes, Sofia Rhodes, Mia Shook-Rhodes, Sadie Shook-Rhodes and Jeremiah Shook; and Sister Frances Bryson (Dick).
Funeral Services for Joyce Rhodes will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Carr's Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Hardesty and Rev. Tommy Presslar officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.
