John Palmer

June 19, 1962 — April 23, 2009

North Carolina

John Milas Palmer, 46, of Laverne, California, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2009.
A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of Inez Palmer of Brevard and the late John Jewell Palmer. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Pearl Palmer, and his maternal grandparents, Milas and Larue Perry.
John loved living in California, but he missed the fall colors and the winters here in the mountains. He always loved sports, and watched every kind of ballgame on TV and he was an avid reader. Even though he was miles away from his family, he stayed in touch to let us know he loved us. We love him dearly and we are going to miss him. May he rest in peace.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his children, Dylan, Atlanta, and Peyton Palmer; sisters, Pat Johnson and husband Ricky of Dothan, AL, Teresa McGuire and husband Ronnie of Pisgah Forest, and Sherry Palmer of Mills River; brother, Scott Palmer and wife Nicole of Washington State; nieces, Rochelle Coward, Stephanie McGuire, Ashley Palmer and Megan Palmer; nephews, Chad Coward, Scott Palmer, Jr., and Russell McGuire; fiance, Cenda Staley of Laverne, CA; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May, 16, 2009 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Malcolm Lance officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Following John's wishes, he was cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, Brevard Camp, P.O. Box 1338, Brevard, NC 28712.
