Jeraldine Paxton

Brevard

Jeraldine “Jerri” Paxton, 91, of Brevard, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at The Oaks of Brevard.  A native of Brevard, NC she was a daughter of the late Elize and Mary Reba McGaha Raxter.  She was also preceded in death husband, Thomas Wood Paxton who died in 1996, seven brothers and four sisters.

She was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.  She was a graduate of Brevard High School, Class of 1947 and attended Western Carolina University for Early Childhood Education. She worked for Camp Keystone for over 40 years and was also active in the Democratic Womens Club in Brevard.

She is survived by two daughters; Mary Alice Laforenza and Angie Robertson, both of Brevard, NC one son; Branch Paxton, also of Brevard, NC, two brothers; Walter Raxter and Preston Raxter, nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend at the Oaks, Brenda McCall.

A Memorial Service for Jerri will be held on at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends in Miller Hall, immediately following the service.

The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the caregivers at Care Partners Hospice and at The Oaks for their special care.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 256 East Main Street, Brevard, NC  28712
