Harold Siniard

Harold Lawrence "Rooster" Siniard, 94, of Brevard, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late J.N. "Sneed" and Mary Jane Fortune Siniard. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Jerry Wayne Siniard and sisters Lillie Siniard and Lucille Siniard Cain.

He was a World War II Veteran, enlisting just after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and served for four years in the Navy, rising in rank to AMM1C before returning to Transylvania County and serving in the Army reserves for 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He operated an independent used car dealership in Brevard, retiring after 71 years of serving the Transylvania County community.

His loving survivors include his childhood sweetheart and wife of 72 years, Thelma Siniard; his daughter Kathy S. Davis (Lynn) of Defiance, Ohio; grandchildren C. Clay Davis (Becky) of Columbia City, Indiana and Casey D. Davis (James) of Huber Heights, Ohio; great-grandchildren Cora Kay Davis and Jaxson Lawrence Davis; brother Charlie J. Siniard (Edith) of Columbia, SC and sister Mary Catherine Siniard of Brevard; nephew Steven Siniard (Barbara) of Kingstree, SC, niece Regina Cain of Brevard and brother-in-law Terry Cain of Brevard.

Services for Mr. Siniard will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Military Rites performed by the U.S. Navy and the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
