Greta Polmanteer

Greta Spencer Polmanteer died on Friday, January 24, 2020, at her home while surrounded by her family. She had lived in Brevard for the last seven years.

Born in 1930 in Corning, New York, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Agnes (Warner) Spencer. Greta was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Constance Jean and Rosa Ann. In 1949 she married Frederick Polmanteer, who preceded her in death in 1998. They were married for 49 years.

She is survived by their three children: James (Kathryn) Polmanteer of Brevard, Julie (David) Foster Peachtree City, GA, and Lori (Danny) Adams of Winter Haven, FL; as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Brevard, NC with a reception following at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to St. Philip’s Memorial Fund, 256 Main St., Brevard, NC 28712 or to Habitat for Humanity, 692 Ecusta Road, Brevard, NC 28712.
