Gregory M. Haight

Gregory M. “Greg” Haight, 65, of Brevard, passed away quietly in the early morning hours at his home. He was the son of Mervin Velmar and Irene Delores Haight.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his infant son, Jacob Isaiah Haight; his sister Lorraine Haight; and his brothers Richard Haight, Frances Haight and Jeffrey Haight.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland, he later moved to Florida where he met his wife, Emily, in 1992. They married in 1995 and made Brevard their forever home in 1997.

Greg worked as a general contractor/ handyman in Transylvania and Jackson Counties. All that worked around him loved him for his charming sense of humor, his love for others and his passion for a job well done. In his downtime he enjoyed laughing with his family and admiring the natural beauty of the mountains of Western North Carolina. He was a loving father and devoted husband who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Emily; children Greg II, Justen, Breanna and Elijah; his sisters Calista Korb and Miriam Kilpatrick as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest.
