Gertrude Morris

Gertrude "Tood" Whitson Morris, 93, of Etowah, NC passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Willard Rex Whitson and Ada Mitchell Whitson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Straley Howard "Boots" Morris who died in 2014, three brothers; Paul, Earl and Buster Whitson, and one sister; Polly Bowen.

She is survived by one daughter; Barbara Turner of Etowah, NC, two sons; Charles Morris of Etowah and Harold Morris and wife Bernice of Glenwood, NC, eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM, January 24, 2017 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, with Rev. Don Mitchell and Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, and NC 28712.
