George Julian

Pisgah Forest, North Carolina

Brevard - George Washington Julian IV (Buddy) of Brevard NC went to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday December 9, 2009 after a short battle with lung cancer.
He was preceded in death by his father Rev. George Washington Julian III and mother Mamie Sue Reeves and sister, Jean Hosmer and one special granddaughter Michelle Georgia Cole. He is survived by his wife Pat Lindsey Julian and two daughters Angie Julian Spearman and Kim Julian Cole and son-in law Michael Cole all of Hendersonville, NC. He had five special grandchildren Dan Spearman and Blake Spearman of Hendersonville and Julianna Cole, Meredith Cole, and Stephen Cole of Hendersonville, NC. He is also survived by a sister, Georgie Dickerson and her husband Bill of Pacolet, SC, a very special cousin Carol Davis of Black Mountain, NC and many nieces and nephews.
George better known as Buddy worked and retired from Dupont. He was a member of Pisgah Forest Baptist church where he served as a deacon and leader of the Job Corp Ministry. He was involved for many years with the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and the Baptist Mens Disaster Relief Team. He did mission work in Romania. Buddy enjoyed working on and restoring antique cars and participated in the Brevard Antique Car Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles on the Blue Ridge Parkway with friends and four-wheelers with his grandchildren.
He was a loving devoted husband, father and "Pops" and friend too many.
The memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. Carrol Lindsey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Saturday at the church.
Memorials can be made to Broyhill Childrens Home in Clyde, NC in his memory.
