Fred Osteen

Fred M. Osteen, Jr. age 79 of Brevard North Carolina passed Friday April 27, 2018. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Fred and Lillian Osteen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his nephew, Scott Osteen.

A United States Marine Corps Veteran, Fred met his wife Ruth while attending Brevard College before furthering his education at Clemson University. His career kept him in Western North Carolina before retiring from the Real Estate industry in 2000. He spent much of his time during retirement fishing and spending time with those he cherished most.

Fred is survived by his wife of 59 years Ruth S. Osteen, their 2 children, daughter Ruth Anne and her husband Orville Jones of Dayton Ohio and his son Fred M. "Sam" and his wife Lisa Osteen of Brevard North Carolina. He also is survived by Five grandchildren Jason, Casey and his wife April, Taylor and his fiancée Danielle, AnnMarie, and Lance along with 2 great children Caine and Owynn, a brother Frank Bernard Osteen, two nephews Lenny and David and a niece Shawn.

A Memorial Service and celebration of his life will be held at 12 noon, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Zack Christy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
