Ethel Terjesen

December 30, 1921 — November 25, 2017

Brevard, North Carolina

Ethel Mae Baldus Terjesen passed away peacefully November 25th, 2017. Heaven just received another angel! She was born December 30, 1921 in Lafayette, Iowa and lived life to the fullest for 95 wonderful years.

She grew up on a farm in Minnesota with 4 brothers where she learned to cook everything from scratch to the delight of family and friends in her life.
Her career in real estate took her from North Dakota to Florida where she met her late husband John W. Terjesen. When John brought her to visit friends in Brevard, she fell in love with the beautiful mountains of Transylvania! They made their home here for 45 years. Ethel was born with a green thumb and it showed in her wonderful flower and vegetable gardens. She worked tirelessly beside John as they built 5 houses together on their property. They always made work seem like fun.

She will be remembered for her infectious smile and always cheery, positive attitude.

Words cannot express what a wonderful, caring, loving and supportive mother she was to her two daughters; Dee Ann Allen of Brevard and Donna Barto of Salt Lake City, Utah. Her grandson is Jeremy Almquist of Salt Lake City. She will be greatly missed by friends and family who were privileged to have had her in their lives. She is now at peace after leaving this world a brighter place to all she touched.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers of College Walk and Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.

Memorial contributions can be made to Care Partners Hospice, P.O. Box 2440, Brevard, NC 28712.
Ethel requested no services as she said "enjoy me while I'm here."
