Ellen Tawney

Ellen Mildred Tawney passed away May 9th, 2018 at the age of 100. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John A. Towle and Bertha (Trauger) Towle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Tawney and her brother, Lester Towle.

She graduated from Huron Road Hospital School of Nursing, 1938 and Brevard College, 1973. She moved to Brevard in 1964 with her husband and family when Harrison joined the faculty at Brevard College.

She was a long-time member of Christ Covenant Church of Brevard.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Judy), Terry (Laura), and Ted, six grandchildren, Tavia (Michael), Elena, Michael, Adam, Letha (Brian), Benjamin (Catherine) and eleven great grandchildren.

Services will beheld at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Christ Covenant Church, Brevard, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2: 00 PM. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory, Pisgah Forest, NC.
