Dorothy "Dottie" Ehmann

Dorothy J. “Dottie” Ehmann, 91, of Brevard, passed away on February 24, 2024 after a severe heart attack. A native of Chillicothe, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Willie Mae Irick James. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Anderson and her brother, Frank.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She volunteered at the Children’s Center and also Transylvania Regional Hospital for many wonderful years. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and was a member of a Connestee Falls quilting circle. She was also a member of the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church ladies Circle.

Her loving survivors include her husband of 49 years, Edward J. “E.J.” Ehmann; children: Melissa “Missy” Frederick, Dr. Elizabeth “Betsy” Ragsdale (Dr. John Ragsdale), Diane Roveto (Anthony), Eileen Ehmann (Steve Wallis), Mary Ehmann (Neal Ratchfield) and Edward Joseph Ehmann (Donna); grandchildren: Braden, Mathew, Daniel, Samantha, Anthony Jr., Dana, Michelle and Michael; and two great-grandchildren.

 A celebration of her life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Deer Tracks Club House in Brevard.
