Dorothy Drake

Dorothy "Lady Drake" Drake, 78, of Rosman, NC, passed away on January 10, 2017. Dorothy Ann Drake was born in Washington, DC to Russell & Vivian Drake on June 10, 1938. She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings (Ronald Drake, Russell Drake, Joyce McKnight and Bobbie Drake) and her son Clinton G. Smith.
Dorothy worked as a RN for 35 years and was a veteran of US Army. Ms. Dorothy (as she was called by her church family and town folk) was passionately involved in Missionary work at Bethel 'A' Baptist Church in Brevard, NC and loved volunteering at The Brian Center.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Maudelle A. Padilla (and her husband Guillerno of Tacoma, Washington) and son Robbie P. Smith (Seattle, Washington). She also leaves behind her sister Angela M. Young (Greensboro, NC), brother Waiver "Pee Wee" Sanchez (Orlando, FL), 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild along with a host of other family members and friends .
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church (20 Mills Ave. Brevard, NC 28712) with Pastor Marshall Irwin officiating.
