Dorothy Leatherwood Bailey

Dorothy “Dorrie” Bailey, 73, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. A Transylvania County native, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Bonnie Curtis Leatherwood. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Buddy” Bailey; brothers and sisters: Edith Blythe, Frances Parris, Billy Leatherwood, Georgie Leatherwood and Dewey Leatherwood.

Having worked as a nanny for over 20 years, Dorrie loved children and talking to people. She was caring and generous to all of her friends and family. She loved all the wind chimes that rang around her house but her greatest love was her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Danielle “Dani” Bailey (Morgan Tsacrios), Joshua Bailey, and granddaughter, Chloe Tsacrios.
