Doris Taylor

Doris Taylor, 78, went to be with the Lord August 22, 2022, at The Oaks of Brevard, NC.  She was a daughter of the late Gaillard Merrill and Mary Pierson Merrill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Taylor, three sisters: Lois Hall, Margaret Hughey and Katherine Bradley.

Doris attended Little River Baptist Church and Brevard High School.  She worked at Pardee Hospital for many years and Family Dollar in Hendersonville. Her passion was sitting on her front porch reading her bible or spending time with her family.  You could always count on her to say, “I love everybody!”

She is survived by her daughter; Paula Taylor of Penrose, NC, three sisters, Perry Lee Brown of Brevard, NC, Betty Hargus and Guyma Parris both of Hendersonville, NC, one brother: Rex Merrill of Pisgah Forest, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Doris will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
