Doris Rahn Orr



Brevard - Doris Rahn Orr, 87, died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Cardinal Care Assisted Living.

She was a daughter of the late P. A. Rahn and Katie Graham Rahn and was wife of 57 years to the late Hollen Orr. She was also preceeded in death by three sisters, Ernestine Rahn Davis, Lillian Rahn, and Irma Rahn Monteith, two brothers; Wilbur Rahn and Herman Rahn and one grandson, Bryon Long.

Mrs. Orr was a 1937 graduate of Brevard High School and a member of The First United Methodist Church of Brevard.

She is survived by three daughters, Vallaree Orr English of Virginia Beach, VA, Dorothy Orr Wolfe and husband James of Jeter Mountain, NC, Marilyn Orr Gordon and husband Greg of Pisgah Forest, NC; one son, Ralph H. Orr and wife Earleen of Pisgah Forest, two brothers, Madison Rahn of Pisgah Forest and Harold Rahn of Brevard; one sister, Vera Anne Mast of Pisgah Forest; four grandsons, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter, five great grandsons, one great, great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, December 28, 2008 at The Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Lively officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pisgah Memorial Gardens.
