Debra Vanghel

Debra Ann Vanghel, 68, of Brevard, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. A native of Linthicum Heights, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Carroll E. and June Chaney Hoy.

After working for the State of Maryland Department of Education for 10 years, she went to work for Baltimore Gas & Electric where she worked until her retirement, 25 years later. It was there she met her future husband, James Vanghel, and the story of their 37-year marriage began.

She was well-organized and detail driven. She enjoyed coloring in pastels and knitting while spending time with her friends. There was no room that she could not light up, and she truly enjoyed being with people. But it was her family and friends that brought her the most joy.

Her loving survivors include her husband, James E. Vanghel; children Michael Vanghel and Samantha Krantz (Karl); grandchildren: Ryan, Ava, Olivia and Jax Krantz; close cousins Mary Ann Clevenger and Lois Isaac (Warren); several other cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, November 18, 2022 in the Chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral, 1:00 PM -2:00 PM. The would like to ask everyone to come in casual attire. Inurnment will be held in Maryland at a later date.
