Brevard - Clarence Eugene Tinsley, Jr., 91, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Tore's Home.

A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Clarence Eugene Tinsley, Sr. and Lottie Adele Flynn Tinsley. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lottie McClung, Christine Jackson, Mildred Williams.

Mr. Tinsley was a veteran of the US Marine Corp, serving from 1941-42 during WW II. He was a member of the Brevard Wesleyan Church, was a Master Taxidermist, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Galloway Tinsley; sons, Mike Tinsley and wife Sheila of Fair Play, SC, and John Tinsley and wife Janet of Pisgah Forest; brothers, Charles M. Tinsley and Donald "Bud" Tinsley and wife Martha all of Brevard; grandchildren, Kym Arduini and husband Peter of Deerfield, IL, Kevin Tinsley of Fair Play, Chris Tinsley and wife Kathryn of Charlotte, Josh Tinsley and wife Meredith of Brevard, Jonathan Tinsley and wife Selene of Lebanon, TN, and Jennifer Woodring and husband, Tyrel of Seneca, SC; great grandchildren, Allie, Joseph, Isabella, Hunter, Kaeli, Sophie, Clay, and Chase.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday at the Brevard Wesleyan Church with the Revs. Dave Blackburn, Hank Moffitt, and Butch King officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:15 PM Sunday at the church.
