Charles Golden

Charles Clarence Golden, 85, of Hendersonville, NC went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 5, 2021.

He was born in Avery Co., NC on May 31, 1936, to the late David and Georgia Miller Golden. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Franklin Golden and Jack Bennie Golden and one sister, Billie Lee Wiggins.

Charles graduated from Swain High School. He was Veteran having served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1968 and retired with Sergeant 1st Class. He retired from Ecusta after 42 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where was a very active for many years serving as a Deacon, sang in the choir, and taught children’s classes.  His faith was deep and real, and he loved to share it.  He was a caring and loving kind man, and he was very much loved by everyone that came to know him. He was a big NASCAR fan and was so proud to have a son who worked a t Bristol Motor Speedway. He loved to piddle (as his wife would say) on his 1970 F100 truck” Old Blue”.  Charles was part of a bowling team called South Paws, because they were all left-handed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ann Golden, two daughters, Deborah Golden Sherman and husband Johnny of Hendersonville, NC and Robin Melissa Golden and partner Tammy Rollins of Etowah, NC, one son, Anthony Charles Golden and fiancé Tammy Moore of Bristol, TN., two granddaughters, Randi Gant and Brianna Leonard, one grandson, Jordan Sherman, three great grandchildren, Everett, Everli, and Zoey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 9, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Jeremy Jackson officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.

A special thanks to the staff at Four Seasons Hospice for the love and care of our dad and husband. Your kindness will always be remembered.
