Carolyn Shuford

Carolyn Pressley Shuford, 55 of Pisgah Forest, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She was born in Jackson County but a lifelong resident of Transylvania County. She was the daughter of the late Mary Lou Pressley and William (Bill) Pressley. She was an active and beloved member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church where she was also the secretary/treasurer. She loved her church and especially enjoyed church functions, activities and any reason to be with church family. She particularly relished family get togethers, holidays, birthdays with friends and family at the Pressley pool! She had a gift of care giving which she used over the past 43 years on the countless number of children that she kept.

Surviving is her devoted husband of 24 years, Jeff Shuford, of Pisgah Forest, NC; one daughter; Addison Shuford of the home; one son; Avery Shuford of the home; her father; William (Bill) Pressley of Pisgah Forest, NC; two sisters; Penny Higginbotham of Brevard, NC, and Trish Pressley of Denver, CO; three brothers; Doug Pressley (Doris) of Brevard, NC, Sammy Pressley (Jessica) of Brevard, NC, Jason Pressley (Sherry) of Brevard NC; her mother-in-law Hope Shuford of Pisgah Forest; her sister-in-law Marsha Early (Judd) of Pisgah Forest and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest with Rev. Jason Kittrell officiating. Burial will at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
