Carolyn Sue Hobgood



Pisgah Forest, NC - Carolyn Sue Hobgood, 61, of Pisgah Forest, NC went to be with Jesus, October 25, 2008. She was a daughter of the late Linwood Truett Hobgood, Sr. and Sue Haley Hobgood Phillips of Fayetteville, NC.



In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter: Haley Scott Brendle, and one grandson: Avery Gray Brendle both of Winston Salem, NC, two sisters: Kathryn H. Clark and husband Kirk of Whiteville, NC and Martha Hobgood Ellington of Raleigh, NC, four brothers: Linwood Truett Hobgood, Jr. and wife Ann of Fayetteville, NC, George Samuel Hobgood and wife Lynn of Cedar Grove, NC, Richard Haley Hobgood of Fayetteville, NC, and Joseph Bryan Hobgood and wife Helen of Lillington, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews including two great nephews.



She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Brevard, NC where she served as an Usher, served on the Administrative Board, worked in the nursery and was a member of the Church Life Committee. She was Chairman of Memory Lane Live Bunch. She served as Secretary-Treasurer of J. Jerry Cabe Scholarship Fund, she was President of Transylvania County Dental Auxiliary, worked a Schenck Job Corp in Pisgah Forest, and was a member of the Junior League of Fayetteville, NC since 1967. She graduated from UNC School of Dental Assisting and Fayetteville Tech in 1973 with their first graduating class of Dental Hygiene. She was employed with Dr. Tucker as a dental hygienist for 35 years.



A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Brevard, NC on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Jordan and Rev. Kerry Purselle officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
