Carl "Howard" Wilkie





Brevard - Carl "Howard" Wilkie of Brevard passed away on December 6, 2008 at The Oaks of Brevard. He was a son of the late William Pinkney Wilkie and Beulah Tanner Wilkie. He was a member and Trustee of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church where he also served as past Deacon and treasurer for the church. His passion and hobby was being able to be a pilot which was evident by being a Lt. in the Civil Air Patrol. He also loved being an artist. Mr. Wilkie retired from Ecusta in 1991, where he worked for 41 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers William Hoyt Wilkie and L. B. Wilkie.



"Howard" was a loving husband, father and friend and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rebecca Allison Wilkie, one daughter: Allison Wilkie McCall and husband Michael of Pisgah Forest, one son: Clarence Brantley Wilkie and wife Pamela of Lincolnton, one brother: James Harvey Wilkie, Sr. and wife Reba Allison Wilkie of Greenville, SC, four grandchildren: Tyler and Matthew McCall, Raynor Wilkie and Shawn Galloway, several nieces and nephews.





Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Moore Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Owings officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM to 2:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home.



Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
