Calvin Edwards

Calvin R. Edwards, 93, of Brevard, died on Saturday, January 12, 2019. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Joe and Pearl Rogers Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty J., "B.J." Edwards and his sister, Nellie E. Bruce.

Before retiring to Transylvania County, Calvin had served as an English professor at Cornell University and Hunter College in New York City and was also a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his nephew, Joseph T. Bruce and his niece, Martha J. Bruce.
