Bonnie Grose

Bonnie Hawkins Grose, 86, of Pisgah Forest, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Hendersonville Health and Rehab.  She was a daughter of the late Ragan Morris Hawkins and Ethel Leigh Turner Hawkins.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald “Gus” Grose who passed away in 2007.

Bonnie graduated from Brevard High School in 1950 and from Brevard College in 1952.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brevard where she also served on several committees, she was a member of several garden clubs.  She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and loved her dogs.  She was known for her hospitality and giving heart.  Everyone was welcome in her home and at her table.  One of her greatest joys was spending time and cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters; Amy Grose Brisley (Robert) of Atlanta, GA and Mary Grose Honaker (Marc) of Charlotte, NC; one son, Gerald Morris Grose (Tina) of Pisgah Forest, NC, one sister; Carolyn Gordon Loebig of Brevard, NC, five grandchildren: Arianna, Jordan, and Lauren Brisley, Lauren Honaker, and Bo Simms, one great granddaughter Kaliyah and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Orr Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Crocker officiating.

Her family will receive friends at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 6PM until 8PM.
