Betsy Dobbins

Betsy Grace Hammett Dobbins, 77, of Brevard, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Lattimore, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Nathan and Ila Lou Lovelace Hammett. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother Tommy Hammett.
She and her husband, Don, sweethearts since she was in the 8th grade, were married for 58 years and did most everything together. They enjoyed camping at Cade's Cove and watching nature and its wildlife around them. Much of her later enjoyment involved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dobbins' survivors include her loving husband, Herbert Donald "Don" Dobbins; her children Michael "Mike" Dobbins and his wife Brenda, Amy Gwen Dobbins and Douglas "Doug" Dobbins and his wife Debbie; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Betsy Grace Dobbins will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Tommy Pressler officiating.
