Beatrice Ann Miller Denslow, 87, of Brevard, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Born in Tampa, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Fred Daniel and Anna Storch Miller. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband. Rev. David Ross Denslow, and her sister, Ruth Weaver.
After an active church ministry with husband Ross, Bea spent her retirement years first in Sapphire and then in Brevard, North Carolina. She enjoyed senior swim group at the college, gospel gourmet, collecting rolling pins, attending Brevard Music Center events, going to family reunions, driving the Pisgah Forest and Blue Ridge Parkway looking at water falls, blooming flowers and fall colors. She and Ross traveled from Niagara Falls across Canada via railroad and Alaska by cruise. Above all she enjoyed making a home for her family.
Bea was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Brevard. She wrote articles regarding activities in the community of Sapphire for the Transylvania Times. Her favorite dishes to make for potluck dinners were potato salad and baked beans. Bea always took pride in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Melody Denslow Carlino, husband Michael Carlino, of Monticello, Wi. , David R. Denslow, wife Maria Canton, Daniel E. Denslow and husband Stephen Spence of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren: Skylar James Carlino and Lucas Allen Carlino, Christina Denslow Townshend and husband Jake Townshend, of Melbourne, FL and Maria's daughter Indiana Castillo of Miami, Fl.; and great-grandchilren Ella Shay Townshend and Ava Marie Townshend.
An opportunity to visit with the family will be held at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations, 100 North Country Club Road, Brevard on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 6-8 PM. Graveside Services will be held at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory at 9:00 am, Saturday, May 4, 2019 followed by a Celebration of Life at First United Methodist Church of Brevard at 10:00 am with Rev. Mike Holder and Rev. Lauren Sims-Salata officiating.
