Anthony Duscio

August 25, 1953 — January 9, 2022

Pisgah Forest, NC

Anthony James Duscio, 68, of Pisgah Forest, NC, died peacefully on January 9, 2022, in Asheville, NC. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late James Vincent Duscio and Ann Paccione Duscio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Ely Duscio, and his brothers, James and Christopher Duscio.

Tony’s lifelong passion of serving people started while working as a boy on his father’s food truck in New York. This later included opening several delis, catering businesses and serving as an elder at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walden, NY.

Tony first met Lisa when she was a regular customer at his deli in Hopewell Junction, NY. She was impressed by his warmth, generosity and gift of hospitality. After marrying in 1989, they went on to own and operate a senior home in Pine Bush, NY. They later converted the home to Pine Bush House Bed & Breakfast. In 2000, they traveled to China, where they eagerly awaited the adoption of their daughter, Lianne Duscio.

Tony and Lisa visited friends in Brevard in 2010 and fell in love with the area. Their decision to move here and become a part of the community naturally followed. Tony loved the Lord and was a generous, servant-hearted, perseverant, hard-working, dedicated and loving husband, father and friend. He continued serving those around him, making each one feel loved and special. He took great pleasure in bringing joy to everyone through laughter, food and gifts; which is a legacy that will forever live on.

He is survived by his daughter, Lianne Duscio; nephew, James Duscio (Sadie) and their two children, Aniello and Isabella.
