Allen Chilson

Allen Wayne Chilson, 83, of Brevard, passed away on June 30, 2018. Born in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of the late Wayne Allen and Belva Fisher Chilson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by grandson, Jeremy Chilson, granddaughter Jessie Arnold, and his great-granddaughter Soren Chilson.

A 1955 Graduate of State University of New York at Alfred, he retired from IBM Corporation in 1991 as an Education Specialist. He had served as a Boy Scout leader for 10 years in Vestal, NY and had served as Chapter President for the local Jaycee Chapter in Vestal as well. He had been a member of the Episcopal Church since the age of 9 and he and wife of 62 years, Thora, were married at St. Paul's Cathedral in Buffalo, NY. Most recently he had served as an usher at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Brevard.

His loving survivors include his wife, Thora; their children Susan Chilson McCalister (Mike), Donald A. Chilson (Wanda) and Carol Chilson Brown; grandchildren Sarah Chilson-Cole (Ryan) and Thomas Chilson (Michelle); great-grandchildren Riley Chilson, Trinity Cole, Brianna Cole and Rebecca Cole; and his sister Carolyn Chilson Ching (Frank).

A memorial service for Allen Wayne Chilson will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Brevard.
