Alexis Ann Barrett

Alexis Ann Barrett, 78, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Born in San Antonio, Texas, she was the daughter of the late C. Alexander and Helen Belt Edelen.

A graduate of Nazareth High School in Nazareth, KY, she also attended the University of Kentucky. She worked as a lifeguard during her high school and college years before marrying in 1967. She was an avid bridge player, quilting, crocheting, needlepoint and painting with water colors.  She also worked at her mother’s flower shop, excelling in floral designing and continued her craft as her family moved to Oshkosh, WI, Battle Creek, MI, and Lexington, KY.  She even once designed the set for the Phil Donohue Show. She had also worked as a real-Estate broker in Rock Hill, SC as well as Oshkosh, WI.

Her great passion was for her family: her husband, son and grandchildren. 

Her loving survivors include her husband of 56 years, James R. Barrett, Jr.; their son, James Barrett, III; grandchildren Bailey Barrett and Baxter Barrett; and brothers Doug Edelen and David Edelen.

A Memorial Service is being planned in Vine Grove, KY.
